50,000 join ID Celeb in Canada

Fifty thousand Filipinos are expected to join the the 118th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 4, 9am onwards at Memorial South Park, Vancouver Canada

Sixteen-year-old folk singer Irah Mae Cullado will sing the Philippine National Anthem to open the grand celebration.

“She is perfect to sing the national anthem,” said folk singer and music icon Heber Bartolome, who will be given the Hero Award during the “Pista ng Bayan” .

Irah is a freshman student studying B.S. Accountancy at De La Salle University Dasmariñas. She is the daughter of civil engineer Zaldy Cullado and Elvie Cullado.

“We are all excited to hold this big event in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, headed by Consul Neil Ferrer. The event coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Philippine Consulate in Vancouver,” says Joel Castillo, the President of the United Filipino-Canadian Association in British Columbia (UFCABC), the conglomerate of over 20 Filipino community groups and associations in the province UFCABC.

Performers like GG Star and former Darna actress and beauty queen Anjannette Abayari will grace the event.
