Travelling to different countries is impossible without a passport or visas that would grant you entry. Lucky for the Canadians, they are able to travel in most parts of the world without worrying about visa restrictions or other bureaucracies.
For a while, the Canadian passport has been sitting on #6 of the ranking for World’s Most Powerful Passports. It has been confirmed by the Passport Index that Canadians officially hold the 4th most powerful passport in the world!
The Passport Index is an online interactive tool which collects, displays and ranks the passports of the world. You can check it out here.
To determine the individual rank of each passport, a three-tier method is applied:
1.Visa-Free Score (VFS) – includes visa-free (VF) and visa on arrival (VOA)
2.VF portion of their score vs VOA
3.United Nations Development Programme Human Development Index 2015 (UNDP HDI) is used as a tie breaker. The UNDP HDI is a significant measure on the country’s perception abroad.

I just got my Canadian Passport recently and I haven’t really tried how powerful it is. For now, it just serves as an additional valid Identification document. I can travel across Europe now with this new passport so it will be exciting to see what destinations we’ll be going to in future!
