Immigrant Story: Leanne’s Fight for a Cure, Families seek assistance in Canada

It is unfortunate to know that cancer can affect anyone at any time. It can manifest during your late years or as early as during your formative years as a child. As for Leanne Jimenez, it began to manifest when she was 14 years old. What seemed to be a benign mass on her right leg four years ago turned out to be the first sign of sarcoma.

FYI: Sarcoma refers to cancerous or malignant tumors of the connective tissues. It arises in the connective tissue of the body such as fat, blood vessels, nerves, bones, muscles, deep skin tissues, and cartilage.

You can only imagine what Leanne has gone through ever since 2004. She lost her self-esteem because she got bullied in school. Her medical condition was nothing short of a burden but she never gave up. She kept fighting although it was so difficult for her. She weathered through it all and eventually finished high school and was able to get a job. However, her condition was too hard for her that she had to quit after a few months.

Her optimism is keeping her to push forward. She has always been looking forward to going back to having a normal life again. Her fight just became more challenging when she was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer Sarcoma, Small blue round cell tumour (Pulmonary and extensive abdominal metastasis with righy pathological trochanteric fracture). Her doctors gave her a month to live but they are not even 100% sure about it.

Leanne is 18 years old today and is still fighting. Together with her family, she is still fighting to find a cure. They have sent her medical history and other records to specialists at the Cancer Centre in San Diego, California where they can cure stages 3 and 4 Cancer patients. The family is asking for your help. Donations and prayers are what they need the most.

Hi everyone! My name is Cheenebelle Jimenez, I’m raising money for my sister Leanne Jimenez, she just turned 18 in December. My sister’s been sick for over 4 yrs now, her previous doctor told us she has lymphatic malformation (mass, tumor) on her right leg. It keeps growing and we asked that doctor if it’s cancerous, they did a biopsy in 2015 and the result was benign. My sister lost her self-esteem because she got bullied, her medical condition affected her whole life but she never stopped fighting although it was so hard for her, she finished her high school and worked for few months, she loved working but with her condition she was really struggling so she had no choice but to stop. She always look forward to having a normal life again until recently she’s diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer Sarcoma, Small blue round cell tumour (Pulmonary and extensive abdominal metastasis with righy pathological trochanteric fracture). The doctors are saying she only has 1 month to live, they are not sure. We need your help so we can take her to the U. S there is a cancer centre in San Diego where they can cure stage 3 & 4 Cancer, we sent them my sister’s medical history and what not. Our family is asking for your help, my sister needs your help. We appreciate anything you could give us, we are desperate, we can’t just let her die. We are also asking for your prayers.

Thank you and God bless!
