Pinoy Janitor in Canada Wins $7M Lotto Jackpot

Everyday, more and more people buy lottery tickets for a chance to win the jackpot prizes. While most will only get a free play or a few bucks back, there will always be one lucky person who wins big. This fact gives hope to a lot of people, and Vito Halasan was one of those people.

Vito is the latest winner of the $7 Million 6/49 lottery jackpot. His Lotto 6/49 ticket from April 27^th was the lucky ticket that matched all six numbers drawn. His win may be attributed to birthday luck because this happened just a few days after celebrating his 58th birthday.

“I remember scanning my ticket and seeing all these numbers. I have (a) really blurry vision, so I had to hold the ticket right up to my face. I couldn’t believe it,” Vito said in a statement.

Vito moved to Canada from the Philippines back in 2009 with his family. He lives and works as a janitor in Surrey, British Columbia. With three kids and four grandchildren, he plans on giving his family the life they’ve dreamt of.

When asked about his plans, Vito said he will continue working as a janitor because it is a job he knows and loves but probably with reduced work hours. However, he does plan on buying a nice house for his children and grandchildren.
