One summer weekend to remember as a fun road trip with family turned into a devastating car crash that will never be forgotten.
Last Sunday, August 19th, a southbound vehicle struck a moose and crossed into oncoming traffic in Lendrum Township, south of Wawa, Ontario. It was a head-on collision between two vehicles, two families. It is likely that a car accident law firm will be involved with the unfolding proceedings.
The Metko family from Calgary has been identified as the passengers in the southbound vehicle. According to the Police, Fatos Metko (45y/o) and his 14-year-old son, Fioralb Metko, were pronounced dead on scene while his wife, Maralba, and their daughter, Brianna, have acquired serious injuries.
The five people in the northbound vehicle has been identified as the Caraoa family who were driving back home to Winnipeg from visiting family. Unfortunately, Cynthia Caraoa (51y/o) and her daughter Anika (9y/o) did not survive the crash while her husband, Roland, and their children, Adriel and Hayden, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Here in Winnipeg, their loved ones and friends, are showing their love and support through a GoFundMe campaign to support the surviving members of the Caraoa family.
It truly is terrible to hear the names of people you know in the news when it is related to a devastating accident like this. In this difficult time, I would like to encourage everyone to show their support in prayers or donations for the families involved in the incident. Thank you!
