Life of Peg Association of Manitoba (LPAM) recently concluded another successful sports season last weekend. The LPAM Sports Season 3 was successful through the good leadership of LPAM President Vangie Mance and League Commissioner Jun Batin together with the rest of the committee members. They celebrated their accomplishments at Hooters where they immediately started the talks for Season 4. Before we get too excited for the nest season, here’s a recap from Season 3.
During the past several months started during winter, 18 teams showed great teamwork and athletic skills but 1 team definitely rose to the occasion to bag the LPAM Season 3 championship.
The KIM VIET TRAVEL team finished in 4th Place led by Big Man Jamal Umali and won the Best in Uniform award. The team was led by a Vietnamese with a heart for Filipinos, Kim Lee. She was so supportive that he sponsored the early vacations of 16 teams.
The MANCE FINANCIAL SERVICES team became the back-to-back 3rd placer after scoring a good lead in their finals game through the help of splash brothers, Miko Ramirez and Tiano Ferrer. The business owner, Mance Group, who is an Insurance broker and Tax Preparer, enabled the team to push forward to the earn the 3rd spot for the 2nd time.
The MITSUBISHI WAVERLY team led by the Russel Westbrook of LPAM, Allen Pescasio went head-to-head with the POWERHOUSE team for the Championship title. Thanks to their sponsor, Jeth Reyes, a product advisor from Mistubishi, for his huge amount of support for the team.
The POWERHOUSE team, underdog, led by one of the youngest player in the league, Justin de Leon, who also lost their first round pick but still became the champions after a very exciting finals game. The team had the most generous and supportive sponsor, Mr. & Mrs. Nestor de Quiroz, who were both happy and proud of their team.
AWARDS
SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD goes to Kiko Pagar . This award went to the top caliber player who observed perfect attendance and Filipino manners and respect such as the use of po and opo.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS. This players made the most defensive stops in the season that they basically managed to put lids on baskets. With their stats and committee votes, they were able to earn this team title.

Justin De Leon was definitely born to be a star. He garnered several awards from his outstanding performance on the court.
Season
Most Valuable Player- Justin De Leon. This award is a recognition for the best player during the whole season. Based on his statistical points and the committee votes, De leon deserved the highly-coveted award. Average 25 points per game
Finals MVP – Justin De Leon. Based on his over-all performance during the finals game, De leon was awarded with this reputable title who score 25 points during the final game.
All-Star MVP – Justin De Leon. During the All-Star Game last midseason, De leon stepped up his game and eventually dribbled his way to earn this award.
Justin De leon was also crowned the 3-pt King. He can bury three point shots like no one else in the league. His best record was 23/25.
POWERHOUSE team were the proud Champions. This team delivered great teamwork even from the ranked 9 during the regular season and grabbed the championship trophy.

Now you know what went down. See you in Season 4! This time, 20 teams are expected to join with 130 returning players and 130 new players. Everyone is sure to be excited to meet a lot of friends and maybe a few frenemies for sure.
As for the upcoming events, the Season 2 of the V-League Winnipeg will be opening soon. This Volleyball event will run from spring to summer this year. If you are a volleyball enthusiast, make sure to watch out for the upcoming games!
