As soon as you arrive in Canada by yourself, you will realize how blessed you are to be able to be here and experience a different life. You will feel bliss that you would want your family to experience it too. This is very typical for Pinoys who have strong ties with their family members especially with their parents. That is the reason why as soon as you get the chance, you will try to invite your parents to visit. You see their happiness and excitement to be same as yours when they get their visas and prepare for their visit. However, not all visits turn out to be great for all. Here is a story of a family who is knocking on your generous hearts for help.
Percival Satira is a Pinoy who moved to Sherwood Park, Alberta in 2012. He is currently married with a daughter. He recently invited his mother, Melinda Satira (Mamita), to visit them and she was fortunate to be granted a tourist visa. The 69-year-old mother was safely arrived in Canada not long ago. At 69 years of age, she was able to go to Canada for the first time.
On April 13th, Mamita complained about having a difficulty in breathing. They initially thought that this could be due to her old age and since she is from a tropical country, her body was not able to adjust to the cold climate. Her son, Percival, called Emergency Medical Services for assistance. She was immediately brought to the hospital at Emerald Hills in Sherwood Park, where she stayed to be given preliminary medications. The following morning, she was transferred to the University of Alberta Hospital for further diagnosis. Her condition was getting worse so her attending physicians order for her a CT scan. Based on the results, she was diagnosed with Pneumonia, Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism and Congestive Heart Failure.
Mamita is on a tourist status only and with no insurance. She has been in the hospital for a while now and the medical bills have been piling up. Their family is in need of your support as soon as possible. They are asking for prayers for her immediate recovery and monetary donations to help pay for her medical expenses.
